ABOUT

sanctum    movement

Sanctum Movement was founded by Indi in 2021, in our first cosy treehouse studio in Pomona on the Noosa Hinterland. We offered pole classes there and our lovely community was born.

Sadly in August 2025 our studio burned down due to a tragic accident. Losing our space was hard, but it made us realise how important having a place to come together and dance was.

In December 2025 we found our beautiful new space, full of natural light and twice as big! We undertook the daunting task of creating our new space from scratch – which was challenging but we have so much support from our community that motivated us.

We re-opened in our new home in Feb 2026. Maddy and Esther became co-owners with Indi and we expanded to two rooms, offering all types of dance classes.

Our vision was to create a supportive, non-competitive space for women of all ages to come together to move and dance. Dance has transformed all our lives, giving us confidence that has been truly life changing and we want to share that with as many people as possible!

 co-owner & pole instructor

I’m a certified pole and heels instructor, dancing since 2011 and teaching since 2017. I love slinky low-flow heels and supporting women to drop into their bodies, build confidence, and explore their own authentic expression through dance. To me, that is the magic & power of dance & I love to share that journey with others. I’m also the founder of Indi Pole, a global platform offering heels pole education through an online studio, retreats, and instructor training. Along the way, I’ve won several international titles & now coach heels dancers around the world in technique, legwork, and performance. When I’m not dancing (rare), you’ll usually find me outside with my little human, chasing waves, snowboarding, or soaking up time in nature

Esther

 co-owner & pole instructor

I’ve been pole dancing since 2021 and teaching since 2023, with a deep love for heels pole dance. I’ve been developing my own slinky style over the years and am a devotee of slinky heels & edgework. Pole truly changed my life, giving me confidence and a way to express myself in ways I never could outside the studio, and that’s exactly why I became an instructor. I’m a certified low-flow heels instructor and love sharing the transformative journey of dance with others. I’ve performed on stages around the country and took out 2nd place at the Podium Goddess competition in Sydney. Outside the studio, I’m also a nurse and a mum… but don’t worry – I’m a cool mum 😉

maddy

 co-owner & pole instructor

Madelane Knowles began dancing at the age of nine in Canberra, where her early training fostered a deep love for performance and community. In 2010, she began teaching at her home studio, developing a diverse portfolio across genres including Hip Hop, Heels, Jazz, and Contemporary.

At 19, Madelane moved to Sydney to complete two years of full-time professional training, earning Certificates IV in Dance from both Ev & Bow and Brent Street. She trained under leading Australian choreographers such as Sarah Boulter, Lisa Bowmer, Neale Whittaker, Stephen Tannos, Mitchel Woodcock, and Cameron Mitchell, gaining extensive experience across classical, contemporary, and urban styles.

Her professional career has seen her perform and teach across Australia, the USA, Japan, and Europe. Highlights include training at Millennium Dance Complex and PlayGround (L.A.), Urban Dance Camp (Germany), and En Dance Studio (Tokyo), as well as performing in major stage productions, music videos, festivals, and events such as HHI World Championships, Carnival L.A., The Voice, Eurovision Australia, and NYE Events with LED Australia.

Madelane’s teaching practice is grounded in community, creativity, and empowerment. She is experienced in instructing all ages and levels, from recreational to competitive settings, workshops, private coaching, and specialty adult sessions. Her classes focus on both technical foundation and self-expression, creating a supportive environment where dancers can challenge themselves, grow in confidence, and share their love of movement together.

Jazlin

pole      &     heels      instructor

Jaz is our resident slinky fairy, dancing and teaching her own special style of ethereal floaty movement at the base of the pole in heels but also up the pole. Jaz teaches many of our more advanced pole classes, and students love her creative transitions and beautiful flow in the air. As a former spicy dancer, Jazlin also brings her love of sensual expression, encouraging students to express their more sensual style in heels. Jaz is a certified low flow heels instructor and is one of the most experienced instructors on the coast. When she’s not dancing she’s doing some other creative pursuit like roller skating or painting.
